The only category I see that has any real competition is Best New Artist and Best Collabo, and how come Umbrella wasn't nominated? They put Best Female Hip-Hop artist category back? Did Day 26 really get nominated for Best Group? With one single? Damn talent was very shot in the music industry for black folks this year. SMH... so many questions so little time

Alicia Keys Clear's It Up

Alicia Keys talks on air with Ryan Seacrest about the statements she made in her recent Blender interview. Personally, i don't feel she need to apologize for a damn thing or "clear up" what she said, she spoke how she felt and it wasn't politically/socially/verbally incorrect but stil... check out the audio here

Come Again?
So in this issue of Blender Alicia gets quite honest, which is very Alicia by the way. Check out her perspective on Gangster Rap:
We ask what other gangsta rappers she liked. And that’s when Keys drives a steamroller through the wall.“‘Gangsta rap’ was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other,” she says, putting down the sandwich. “‘Gangsta rap’ didn’t exist.”
Come again? A ploy by whom?
She looks at us like it’s the dumbest question in the world. “The government.”Alicia says Tupac and Biggie were essentially assassinated, their beefs stoked “by the government and the media, to stop another great black leader from existing.”
You can check out the rest of her controversial interview here
This is exactly why I love Alicia, she keeps it real no matter what! No programmed robot or rehearsed by managers and publicists about what she should and shouldn't say/do in public or interviews. Gotta love this oh so fabulous chic!!
Stay Fab :)

On Set With Alicia
So the wonderful and fabulous Ms. Alicia Keys has filmed a video for her third single off of her TRIPLE platinum album As I Am and it is "Teenage Love Affair". Let me say, I have the album and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that song and personally I can't wait for the video. It is said that it will premiere on 106 & Park on April 23rd, but it's actually going to premiere here first.... stay tuned and stay fab :)
P.S. she is too damn big to be laying in bed with a Lauryn Hill poster on her wall talking 'bout she in a teenage love affair.... I'll be real mad if her "mom" comes in the room to tell her to go to bed or get off the phone.
