Update On Solange's Upcoming Album

This one is for those who care

Solange Knowles has set a release date for her upcoming sophmore release, 'Sol-Angel and The Hadley Street Dreams' (I really like that name though), which is slated for August 23. It includes production by Cee-Lo, Mark Ronson, Pharrell- who produced her first single 'I Decided' which she recently shot the video for which is directed by Melina, Q-Tip and Raphael Saadiq. Other songs included on this album are 'Cosmic Journey', 'Wanna Go Back' featuring Marsha Ambrosius of Floetry, 'Same Song' which features British sensation Estelle, 'Different Man' and 'Champagne Chronic Nightcap' featuring Lil Wayne. She also pays tribute to Marvin gaye on 'Ode To Marvin', does her own version of 'What's Goin On', 'T.O.N.Y.', 'Sandcastle Disco' and 'Would've Been The One'.
Her first album 'Solo Star' reached No. 23 and sold 112, 000 copies to date.

She should just start "leaking" tracks like everybody else, that will probably sell more records.

UPDATE: Orlando Needed To Be Alone

Orlando is now apologizing for dissapearing and worrying folks. He says he "needed to be alone." He thanked fans for the support and said it was not a hoax he just "felt a little lost and needed to get away." Well I guess the spotlight burn holes through certain people... sometimes it gets too hot.

He also says "It got a bit overwhelming and I needed to be alone".

More Divorces

Ahhh man! Swizz Beats and his wife of four years, singer Mashonda is getting a divorce. Here's the scoop from the rep, they didn't want to specify the reason but said this:

"The split was “on amicable terms.”“Their union was one shared in love and deep admiration for one another. For the last seven months, the two have been working on establishing a formidable friendship, being great parents to their son, and remaining great supporters of each other's careers,” a representative told AllHipHop.com. “The couple has asked that their privacy be respected at this time.”Despite a looming divorce, the pair will move forward with their entrepreneurial and musical efforts.Swizz is presently working on a follow-up album to his 2007 sophomore CD, One Man Band Man.Mashonda is expected to launch an upscale swimwear line, a new venture in music, and hopes to found an arts-based school for children."

Orlando Brown, most known for his role as Raven Baxter's best friend on the Disney Channel hit show 'That's So Raven' has appearantly gone missing. His publicist, Elayne Rivers, is putting it out there that Orlando has been missing since yesterday. She says his family is very concerned as he has never gone this long without contacting someone. He left his manager’s house in Studio City early yesterday morning to go to a nearby 7 Eleven, and hasn’t been heard from since. He even missed his full day of meetings yesterday. Sadly, this is the most he's been talked about during his 13 year career (Bow Wow, you're not alone).

I really hope everything's okay...

So I guess the newly crowned Queen doesn't want to mess up her figure. When asked if children were any where in her future MiMi responded saying:

“It’s hard to have kids in this world. I don’t think I could properly educate a child right now. Maybe in the future, but I actually haven’t thought about it.” Carey said having children would leave her feeling “violated… I know that’s a kind of weird thing to say, but that’s how I am. For now I enjoy my dog Jack’s company. It’s definitely because of childhood traumatic stuff. The whole not wanting to have a baby as a baby.” (Boo-Boo, your pushing 40)

Well... I guess it's hard to have someone more obsessed with butterfly's than you are.

Mariah Tells Her "Love Story"

MiMi has officially stated that her next single is going to be 'Love Story'. I like this song but it sounds very 'Teenage Love Affair' (Alicia Keys) to me. Same thing- grown ass people talking about young love/first love.... the melody is also very reminiscent to 'Stay Down' (Mary J. Blige) and the beginning/ending- with the repetition- sounds very "Bone Thugz n' Harmony".... but I guess when you mix all those sounds you get your own.

Still... fab :)

Word Columbia?

Columbia seems to be dropping artists from left to right. First Omarion got the boot and now Amerie has left the building. She left the label after it just never seemed to be working out. They didn't do her right on that last album I'll say that! It got a European release but never came out in the states. She is know talking to L.A. Reid over at Def Jam, hopefully that works out and maybe she could put O on. DAMN. I'm just waiting for the official word on Ms. Kelly because I KNOW it's coming. Don't fret my dear....
